(1) First People’s looks a handy enough horse and can get away with this on debut. W9n a trial here leading into this and I don’t think he’ll have to be a superstar to come out on top.

(2) Hypnosis ran well having his first start for a year when finishing 3rd at Nowra last month. Sure to have improved with that run under his belt now and will take some catching from the front.

(5) No Statement has been running well this prep and has the benefit of race experience under his belt in this kind of field. Stuck on well after having to work early last start and should enjoy a good run today up on speed.

(3) Mr Burgundy debuts today after looking the part at the trials. Would be no shock to see him just come out and be too good for these.

(1) Seduction Queen is short but I think she should just be winning here. Loved getting out to 1800m last start where she never looked like losing and looks ready for another rise in trip here. She’s better than Class 4 grade.

(3) Microna looks the only real threat dropping back in grade for this after running well at Kenso last start.

(2) For Valour only narrowly went down fresh when having first run for almost a year. He did well there with a big weight and now drops slightly in weight for this while getting out to 1500m looks ideal. Hard to beat.

A win looks close for (5) Vyner who went down as a short priced favourite last start. He looks the main danger to the favourite here.

(5) Daichi is a lightly raced horse having just his third start. Has been fitted with a heap of trials leading into this and was last seen winning over 1200m. He looks a horse with a bit of upside and can win this.

(1) Quiet Riot will need to improve off a dissapointing first up run but he has the ability to win here. The claim is a bonus and he has trialled well in between runs.

(6) King Fu Mushu was a tough winner first up beating a handy horse. She’ll be improved 2nd up rising in trip and this doesn’t looks a very strong bm64.

(1) Cross Talk is an interesting runner having first start for Gaibott. He was a winner in his only start over in NZ and looks promising.

(2) Sonic Tycoon is also having first start for a new stable and will probably find this a touch easier than last prep. Will still need to improve off last few runs though.

I’ll be with (1) Quackerjack here in the feature race. He’s always got a chance in this sorts of Cup races and his best is definetely good enough. Suited out to the mile and he always races well 2nd up.

(3) Reloaded didn’t have much luck in the G1 Epsom and that’s clearly the best form for a race like this. With any luck he can bounce back.

(8) Wheelhouse comes out of the Sydney Stakes and rises sharply in grade for this now. Gets in light for Berry from the low draw and will be hard to beat.

(9) Carolina Fire led them up last start and broke through for a good maiden win. I think they can adopt similar tactics today and she looks a progressive horse in a field like this.

(8) Buba ran well on debut for new stable and you’d expect him to improve now rising in trip.

(3) Just A Jedi looks ready to run a big race 3rd up. There was a but of money for him last start in a stronger race than this.

(6) Dream Maiden looks the value.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since.
