Morphettville Racing Tips: Friday, July 30th

Billy Bestford previews his best bets for a good afternoon of racing in Adelaide.

We’re making a rare trip south for a Friday meeting at Morphettville and there looks to be a couple of decent bets towards the back end of the card. A few of these races were originally scheduled to run last Saturday but were postponed to today due to bad weather.

The track is currently rated a soft 7, the rail is out 2 metres from the 1000m-400m and true the remainder.

Billy Bestford is once again back with a few tips to see out the working week, and has found three bets he is keen on. Read on to find his tips in Race 6, 7 and 8.

Keen to have something on two horses here and look for a result. The first of those is (13) Tahnee Tradition who comes out of a good form race behind Munster at Murray Bridge. She was first up there and was a touch unlucky but looks to have come back in good order and I think she looks a decent enough chance to go one better here.

(11) Royal Gun Salute is an interesting runner and you’ve always got to take notice of Stokes producing one fresh. This horse was well-backed on debut last prep in Victoria and won well before just losing his way a little bit recently. A freshen up will do him a world of good and I think he will run really well here.

(4) Munster has been in very good form this time in work and continues to run well. He rarely runs poorly and I think with Jess Eaton to ride today he will have every favour to be in with a winning chance.

(6) Star Of Uma looks pretty hard to beat if you forgive her last start fail in a stronger race at Flemington. She was flying before that and looks much more suited back to this grade.

(11) Swift Sure looks primed to win now 3rd up out to this trip. You could make excuses for both runs this prep and he comes out of a strong form race. Was a winner in his only 3rd up run previously and Eaton should have options from gate 7.

(1) Tibetan is another who will be suited out to this trip now 3rd up following two good runs in this grade. Wears winkers for the first time today and while winning strike rate is a concern, he won’t get a better chance than today to break through.

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
