Very interested to see (9) Wicklow make his Australian debut for the Waller stable. Ran some nice races back in the UK in debut prep, stringing together a couple of placings before making his way over here. Has had two good trials since arriving and looks very much suited fresh over the mile. Hasn’t showed much early speed so I’d expect Avdulla to flop him out the back from the wide draw and will hopefully be winding up late off a genuine tempo. 

(7) Peekays Legacy looks ready to do something 3rd up here today. Was a big drifter in the market last start in a strong maiden at Canterbury, where he opened close to favourite on the day. Just got too far back but liked how strong he was through the line and can be a big improver. First up run was very good.

(1) California Sky was solid when last seen running 2nd over 1400m fresh. Should strip fitter for this out to the mile and the booking of Berry are all positives.

(1) Henschel started favourite in a high rating BM78 last start at Gosford and finished 3rd behind the smart Blondeau. That was following a very good 3L win the start prior over this track/trip and now looks suited back to this grade today. Should go forward from the low draw and be hard to run down with the 3kg claim on his back. Can’t see too many queries. 

(6) Magic On Ice looks a big price. Is extremely consistent and has been in strong form of late. This is obviously tougher but will probably lead them up and always shows plenty of fight.  

(2) Ranges was a good winner last start and should be nearing peak fitness now. Has been a winner 3rd up before but just might need some luck from the wide gate.
