The good 4 track should play perfectly with the rail out 9 metres.

Giving (9) Maui another chance back to his home track. He was huge first up, coming from a long way back in some very strong late splits to run 2^nd, which resulted in an avalanche of money for him at Sandown in a bm70. He ended up starting $2.00 there in a much stronger race but couldn’t finish off. He drops in grade for this, gets in with 57.5kg, draws well in barrier 6 and has never missed the quinella at this T/D. Pretty keen he justifies the SP from last start and delivers here in a much easier race.

(2) Smokin’ Romans resumes here after a fruitful first prep. He twice won very impressively on the synthetics to start his career, before running 5^th beaten 2.3L to Right You Are at Flemington in a strong 3yo race. Completely forgive the last run- he was 5 weeks fresh and didn’t handle the heavy track whatsoever, which is understandable given his big striding action. He’s suited to a wide draw on a good track at Pakenham, so everything points to a good first up run. He’s a horse that can go forward or back so Mott has options. I think he’s the most talented horse here and if he’s right to go he’ll be hard to beat.

Trent Crebbin

Trent’s interest in the thoroughbred started out as a spark with Black Caviar, became a flame with Winx, and has now intensified into a burning obsession with Arcadia Queen. He started out throwing loose change on random trifectas at the pub, but it wasn’t long before he was watching replays and looking at sectionals, weights and markets. Trent specializes in Victorian racing and hopes his first winner as an owner is just around the corner.
