(12) Have Mercy looked the pick out of the debutants and thought she trialled really nicely in the lead up to today. She won that most recent trial by two lengths, finishing ahead of Ingratiating while under a hold. Looks to have some ability.

It’s a lottery for the next pick but Bowman wearing the famous Winx silks for Waller probably has to go in the numbers somewhere riding (8) Unico. This horse ran 2nd on debut before being spelled and maps for a nice run here from gate 5.

(3) Da Nang Star actually went into my blackbook following last start when he was smashed in betting before missing the kick and did well to finish 2nd from well back in the field. We’re getting $9+ here today and I think that’s a more than fair price with race fitness on his side.

(2) Mount Fuji always attracts some interest when he heads to the races. He’s obviously still a maiden since being purchased for $2.8m and connections will be hoping it’s third prep lucky after a string of up and down performances.

(6) Jadida had four starts in her first prep where she started well in the market for all of them. She’ll be much improved coming into today and looks a good chance.

(4) Terwilliker can regain his best form dropping well back in trip and grade following a little freshen up. Was outlcassed over the 3200m at Rosehill last start but I think he looks much more suited here today.

(1) Shuffle Up looks to be building towards a win and looks ideally placed stepping out to this trip for the first time.

(6) True Marvel will enjoy dropping 4kg from last start where he was tough to finish 2nd on a very heavy Gosford track. Should enjoy a better time of it here.

Pretty excited to see (3) Cueillir step into metro grade today after some impressive performances to begin his career. The most recent of those was a big win at Gosford , storming down the outside to put 1.5L on a handy horse in Sniper Legend. Looks above average and can make it 3/3 here.

(8) Sepoy Star is another horse who looks to have plenty of talent. Was a very good trialler before an extremely impressive debut and now gets Jmac on his back.

You couldn’t miss the last run of (3) Saomi who flashed home from a mile back to just miss behind Turnstyle. That horse has since run well on Saturday. Looks a nice setup today 3rd up and is clearly airborne this prep. Gets the in-form Hugh Bowman on his back today and he maps for a perfect run from gate 3.

(8) Explosive Truth looks the likely leader and will be the one that Saomi will need to run down. Was very good last start making own luck up on speed and the low draw means he should find the front with ease.

Hard to tip against (6) Scenic Warrior who was a big winner against the bias last start following a very long spell. Should take massive improvement from that run and has been a winner 2nd up in the past. Keen to see him out to 1400m as well.

(5) Matterhorn was a dominant winner last start at Canterbury on the same day as Scenic Warrior. Up on speed was the place to be however and he was gifted every possible chance there.

I like (1) Invinciano on the 7 day backup after being well supported in the market last week at this track. He ran home solidly but looks much more suited out to this trip where his record reads three starts for two wins. Will be a big improver on a dry track.

(2) Miss Einstein is a deserved favourite following some eye-catching performances either side of a 6th in a strong Saturday race. Let down extremely well from the back last start to win easily and remains in the same grade today. Think she’s a much better horse in the wet however.

(4) Jungle Book next best and continues to run well in these sorts of midweek races.

(6) Fortune Seeker will appreciate the drop back in grade here after pulling up with excuses last start in a strong Saturday race. Will be at peak fitness now 3rd up and gets a handy claim on her back. Should roll forward be tough to run down.

(5) Rosa Moyessi is flying at the moment and beat home a handy horse last start in Promise Of Success. Should sit just off the speed here and if they go too hard infront, will be ready to pounce.

(2) Exotic Ruby is probably the class horse of the field and has been going around in tougher races than this. Will apreciate finally getting onto a good track and Jmac is always a positive.

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
