Racing in NSW heads to Wyong today where there is an 8-race card on the program. It’s been a cracking week of weather so we will be racing on a Good 4 with the rail out 3 metres the entire track.

Billy Bestford has found a few he likes on the card, with suggested bets in Race 4, Race 6 and Race 8.

I think (2) Barrichello looks well placed to break his maiden today. Is yet to put in a bad performance in four career starts and drops back to provincial level for the first time here. Was nosed out narrowly in the two starts prior to his last effort and I’m keen to see him get out to this longer trip. Berry to ride is always a bonus.

(3) Cat D’oro looks the obvious threat and is another who rarely puts in a bad run. Comes out of the same race as Barrichello and will need to make up a length on him today.

(9) Sniper Legend looks the best of the day for mine and should be winning with even luck. 3rd up now and will be at peak fitness, should be up near the speed and might have a bit too much class for these. Beaten by a handy one last start.

(3) Gidgee Guy will be a big improver on a dry deck with all four career wins coming on top of the ground. Rarely puts in a bad run and should get the gun trail from the low draw.

(1) Ready To Soar will appreciate the drop in class today and is still lightly raced with plenty of upside. The 3kg claim is a big positive for her today and will be right in the finish.

Thought (2) Big Surprise could run a race following some good form recently. Strung together two good wins before only being beaten by Yiyi last start who has since come out and bolted in at Rosehill on Saturday. Handles all conditions and the apprentice claim is a big help.

(6) Lake Kastoria looks the obvious danger and deserve favourite off the back of two nice wins to start her career. They were both on heavy tracks however and needs to deal with the rise in grade today.

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
