(7) Sacred Field has looked above average at two recent trials and is a horse who looks a very exciting talent for team Hawkes. Showed plenty of speed in both of them and should be ready to fire here over 1100m. Tommy Berry takes the ride after riding in the most recent trial win and this looks a very winnable race. 

(2) Conexy ran a good 2nd behind Overpass when fresh and has good 2nd up form. Only needs to take natural improvement from that to be in with a chance here at each way odds. 

(5) Sonnet Star jumped awkwardly last start before running on very well in a strong form race. Won well before that and can improve here today.

Could honestly make a case for (4) Golwen at big odds. Went very close to winning first up at a similar price when well short of his best trip. Gets out to his most preferred 1400m now and has been a winner 2nd up before. Gate is a big concern but with any luck, I think he can run a drum. 

(14) Manseneta bolted in last start at Grafton and has been kept up to his work with a recent trial. Looks very progressive and may have a bit more upside than many of his rivals here. Should get every favour from gate 2 and looks a good chance in a very open Highway as always. 

(3) More Sundays is on the quick backup from last week after being well backed in the market and running on strongly after not having much luck. Will get his chance again today from a wider draw.

(7) Sound Of Cannons is knocking on the door and should be rock hard fit now 4th up. A repeat of that run should see him going very close and think getting back on top of the ground might be key. 

(6) Brown Thomas is flying lately and beat home Sound Of Cannons last start. Can’t knock his form and could give this a good shake. 

(10) No Compromise made a very good Australian debut running 3rd over 2000m and looks suited getting to 2400m now. Looks a very winnable race and Waller is flying lately.

It’s been a while since (5) Nicci’s Fling won but continues to race extremely consistently and deserves a win. Her last start 2nd to Midland was very good and gets an ideal run from barrier 3. Today could be the day for her. 

(6) Snippy Fox is another who has been racing honestly and looks very close to breaking through this prep. Arguably should have won last start and form behind Faschanel looks good for a race like this. 

(2) More Prophets looks ready to peak 3rd up from a spell. Struck some traffic last start at Scone following a very good fresh run behind the talented Lost And Running and will be right in the finish.

(12) Cream Rises looks a horse with plenty of talent, having bolted in both starts to date. Nothing to say he can’t handle the step up in grade today and keen to bet at around the $8+. Handles all conditions and deserves a crack at this level. 

(8) Nags To Riches is another horse I think is above average. Measured up in a strong listed race last start after bolting in fresh and looks to still have plenty of upside. Keen to see him 3rd up to 1200m now and will enjoy every favour from the draw.

(3) Enchanted Heart is airborne and is a much better horse with her toe in the ground. Should get that to an extent here and has only been beaten twice since last Septemeber. She is 2/2 when 4th up.

(8) Marway is another horse that is absolutely flying and made a big statement last start at Wagga. Romped in there and should go forward again and be very hard to catch. 

(9) Adelong continues to get better as this prep goes on and now keen to see her 4th up. Has run well in these sorts of races and just can’t leave out of the numbers. Giving her one more chance.

Very excited to see (3) April Rain again today. Went down narrowly as a short-priced favourite fresh at Gosford but just had too much to do to reel in the winner. Can’t knock that performance and should be much more suited here at Randwick. She has race fitness on her side today. Looks a horse who can go on to win group level races and I think only bad luck can beat her. Very keen. 

(11) My Greek Hero resumes first up for a new stable after a disappointing last prep. Showed plenty of ability early on and best performances have come fresh.

Strong but tough race here. I’m going to side with (9) True Detective at an EW price who showed big improvement when running a good 2nd behind Lost And Running. Gets in very light with the claim today and like seeing him out to 1400m. 

No jockey booked for (2) Bandersnatch but think he can improve 2nd up. Gets to his best trip here and should be able to lead from the low draw and be hard to catch. 

(13) Lina’s Hero has to tackle the step up in grade today but was a strong winner last start over Le Gei Soleil. Should be rock hard fit now and will be up on speed with no weight on the back.

Tip: (9) True Detective - $11 at TopSport

So long as (4) Malkovich isn’t just a trial star and can transfer that form to race day, he looks very hard to beat. Has speed to burn and comes into this after winning two trials by a combined 18 lengths. Enjoys this track and trip expect King to go straight to the lead and be hard to cathc. 

(7) Hulk is as honest as they come and was very good when fresh in a similar race to this. Looks to get the gun run with Berry on board and should only improve off last start. 

(8) Belluci Babe ran 3rd in that same race as Hulk and peaked late after looking the winner at one stage. That was a month between runs and will present much fitter here today.
