Saturday racing heads to a very wet Rosehill and we have a bumper ten race card to get stuck into.

The track has copped a heap of rain and we are currently sitting at a heavy 10. The rail is in the true position.

Billy Bestford is back again to preview every race and has found a few at nice odds for the afternoon.

(8) Vinnie’s Spirit looked smart at the trials and just due to the way he maps on a very wet track I think he can get away with this race. Should find the front pretty easily and the form out of his trials has been pretty strong.

(12) Emilia Romagna was an expensive purchase and she’s also trialled very well. She looks a good winning chance off that work.

(5) Lady Laguna won on debut and can go on with today.

(18) Extravagant Lad was smashed in betting first up following some nice trials and ended up bolting in. That was on a wet Gundagai track and while it’s harder here I expect he can measure up.

(1) Participator is unbeaten through two career starts and looks a horse with a bit of upside. Bolted in by 5 lengths fresh and ran good time. Looks a city class horse.

(7) Unwavering Faith is a swimmer and is beginning to build a handy record. Can’t knock her in this sort of form and at the price I think he looks the way to play this race.

(4) Rebel Rama no doubt is probably the class horse of this race and this is the easiest she’s been in for a while. Looks primed 4th up and gets conditions to suit today.

(13) Foxtrot Bravo looks the value in the race and can give a good sight carrying no weight.

I’ll be with (1) Polly Grey here who should be a big improver onto a wet track. Should be much more suited out in trip now with race fitness on side.

(5) Mightybeel is airborne and no doubt is probably the best horse in this race. I have a bit of a concern on a wet track.

(8) Irish Angel can win here fresh getting condition to suit. Loves wet tracks and loves 1100m and I think she can sprint well enough here to win.

(2) Undeniable is in good form and can’t really knock his racing pattern. Never seen a heavy track however but should be suited with the claimer on.

(6) Prince Invincible next best.

Keen to back (9) Media Starguest who looks suited now out in trip 3rd up. Think he looks ready to peak and should be more suited in these conditions. Maps well from gate 7 and I think he is still on the up.

(5) New King is a smart horse and is on the up this prep. Been building to a peak run and looks ready 4th up.

(8) So United looks the likely leader and is airborne this prep. I think he will be tough to run down in these conditions.

(2) Tambo’s Mate is flying for Gollan and comes to Queensland in super form. I’m pretty keen that the stable has him right for today and no doubt is better with his toe in the ground.

(1) Southern Lad is a swimmer and probably the class horse of the race. Was a good winner fresh and no doubt Nash will give him the gun run from gate 5.

(10) Spaceboy will give a good sight up on speed and should lead these for fun. Stuck on well in The Warra last start and this is arguably easier.

Could be well off the mark here but (14) Mubariz looks overs to me. He is better over further but on a heavy track this is probably suitable first up. Loves it here at Rosehill and will get through the conditions.

(13) Brutality is a swimmer and will be ready to peak 3rd up. Should be better out to 1500m now and likes it here.

(10) Ellsberg looks the likely leader and only finished 3L off I’m Thunderstruck and Count De Rupee. That form looks the best in this race and should be hard to beat.

(2) Bandersnatch had every chance first up but should improve off that and will be thereabouts again.

(4) Brookspire should be winning this first up. Goes well fresh and has shown a bit of ability in her career. Last first up run was a cracker and reeled off some very quick sectionals. A repeat of that would be winning this.

(2) Expat gets through the wet and will take some catching from the wide draw and an apprentice claim. Knows how to find the line and will be the one that the fav has to run down.

Uninspiring way to round out the card and looks a real dart board job.

(8) Formentera looks close to a win and I think much better suited back in trip. Don’t think he ran out 1900m last start and gets conditions to suit today.

(16) Sacred Command will run well down in the weights and was very unlucky last start. Deserves a win on the back of some unlucky runs.

(11) Artero is lightly raced and on the up. Can measure up here and ran some slick sectionals last start.

Billy Bestford

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi.
