(9) Dunalley ran on well for 2nd to Character at Cranbourne who has since run well in the Super Impose at Flemington on Saturday. The extra trip will suit, and the run last start was on a soft 6 so I’m prepared to say she’ll handle heavy.
(7) El Rocko was sound at Flemington last start and should find this a bit easier.
(4) Tour Of Duty worked home okay in the derby trial in a race dominated on speed. He was beaten 7.7L but the further they go the better.
Tip: (9) Dunalley- $3.50 at Ladbrokes

Having something on (10) Waitapu who started $3.40 favourite on debut and covered plenty of ground out wide, raced greenly and lost a plate in the run. He wasn’t terrible and worked home okay through the line. A son of Sacred Falls, I think the wetter the better for him and he did trial well leading in.
(9) The Nephew went past Waitapu on debut from a long way back and is an obvious chance off that. He did start $12 there and draws wide, but should be hitting the line well.
(13) Native Girl started $61 on debut but hit the line very well in the 2nd fastest late splits of the day, only bettered by Extreme Flight won has won impressively again since. That was on a soft 7 and despite the wide draw looks the horse to beat.
Tip: (13) Native Girl- $4.20 at Sportsbet
Value: (10) Waitapu- $19.00 at TopSport

(8) Lady Adelaide ran well in a decent race at Warrnambool on a wet track on debut. She ran well first up at Donald, getting back off a slow start as favourite.
(7) Jenniferwish started $5 on debut and ran well behind Smytzer who has run okay in some better city races since.
(1) Big Time Girl improved lengths 2nd up and can continue to improve.

(2) Sudoko looks the horse to beat. The debut win on a soft 6 was strong and the 2nd up run last prep was very solid in a good race. He’s jumped out well on a heavy track.
(3) Island Edition bolted in on debut on the synthetic and tried very hard in a much stronger race last start. A wet track has to be a query.

The wet track aids (2) Sir Kalahad, but frustratingly there isn’t a suitable race for him over 1200m. His last two 1000m runs have been quite good though, and he is 4 and a half weeks between runs here. Should be able to lead.
(1) Hawker Hurricane does have some 1000m form as a younger horse. He’s clearly good enough at his best and did run 4th in a Group 2 Arrowfield on a heavy track
(3) Fine Dane beat Sir Kalahad over 1000m three back at Sandown and then finished just behind that horse in the Mcewen. A heavy track isn’t as ideal for him.
(4) The Gauch is progressive and going well but drops back to 1000m on a heavy track which is a query.

(8) Super Thief does look the horse to beat. The debut on a soft 6 last prep was good behind See You In Spring who won a listed race at her next start. He returned off some solid jumpouts and was far too good at Swan Hill at $1.40. Gets a nice run on the map and should be going very close again.
(6) Duty Dynasty is a handy horse resuming. His win at start number 2 was quite good, but both starts have been on the synthetic which has to be a query going onto a heavy track.
(4) Canadian Gold next best but 1000m is a bit short.

(1) Adonis Kick looks well placed. He won nicely on a heavy 10 three back over 2050m at Moe and hit the line well back in trip last start. On a wet track at Sale, they should be coming very wide in the straight now so don’t worry about the draw.
(6) Newzeel Deal is going well and doesn’t mind a wet track. Barrier 1 could be a query.

(10) Jay Gatsby is racing well although 1400m is a query. No worries on a wet track but this is a very open race.
(13) Zoumon won quite well on a soft 7 on debut, kicking back on the inside. Not the easiest bm64 to go straight into but he should measure up.
(9) Saltpeter looks ready to do something out to 1400m. 3rd up last prep he wasn’t far off Annavisto which obviously reads very well.
(7) Seafield Road might be the best roughie on a wet track.
