Looks an ideal race for (9) Write The Score. The form lines from last prep just read so well, having finished close up to the likes of Liquero, Butter Chicken and Galactic Fury. Blinkers are on, J Kah is on, drawn barrier 1, won a jumpout- all point to the camp leaving nothing to chance and getting the maiden out of the way.
(10) Wyld Savanna looks the danger. She gets in with 54kg and maps well for in form apprentice Cartwright. She wasn’t far away in some decent maidens last prep and jumped out behind the favourite.
(6) Ocean’s Jen next best off a good jumpout win.

Another favourite that just looks to have far superior form lines. (8) Mac ‘n’ Cheese was unlucky on debut, held up in the straight before just missing All About Eve, who should’ve beaten Magic Max on Saturday. Some query going 1100m to 1400m but finds a very winnable race.
(3) Royal Fox is clearly the danger. He was good on debut from the back and got back in the field again at The Bool but did get the run on the inside which was better than trying to loop the field. Will get back again.
(5) Back In The Day should roll forward from barrier 7 and looks ready to win off a good run at Pakenham, but does strike a fairly strong 2yo race.
(7) Modern Legend is another that looks to be building towards a win.

Tipping Kah to notch up a couple early with (2) Spooning. She was dominant two back at Pakenham breaking her maiden and was hardly disgraced behind Cherry Tortoni in the Adelaide Guineas, leading and sticking on for 3rd, beaten 3.8L. She beat home Agreeable, Highly Discreet and Way To Go Paula, who were coming off good listed runs and looks well placed in a bm70. Draw looks ideal, Kah should settle just off the speed and be too strong.
(6) Indian Doll battled well to win on debut at 1300m and should appreciate getting out in trip. Didn’t beat much there but has plenty of upside.
(3) Star Of Eden was okay at Flemington in a harder grade of race and looks well placed here.
(4) Sweet Karolina was good in the same race but may get a long way back.

(1) Esta La Roca easily has the best form in the race. He won over 955m first up last prep, then bolted in over the same course, beating the likes of Japery, Night Of Delight and Zipping Boy which reads very well. The jump out at Caulfield behind Write The Score (r1) was good under no pressure and although there’s plenty of speed, the 1000m chute should be fine to sit wide and be too fast, unless the rail is on fire.
(14) Mastobal can be included at huge odds- I think it could start $51+. The heavy track clearly helped first up but she bolted in and her run prior to a spell when she should’ve finished closer to Curran (since run 2nd to Ayrton!) wasn’t bad. Maps for a suck run and if the gaps come she might surprise a few.
(10) High Risk loves the 1000m and has won first up before. Likes Sandown and should get the camp off the speed.
(9) No Frontiers looks very progressive and has been given time, should measure up here.

(12) Runaway Train was good winning two back and got too far back last start at Cranbourne behind Carrie and Alovelybrownhorse, which is a fairly strong form reference. Takes on the boys here and draws the carpark which is the issue.
(6) Sleepless bolted in last start at 2000m and should be ready for the 2400m now. Another that draws very wide and will need a good ride.
(3) Laundy always goes around in the market and never wins, which is enough to put me off this race because he does get another good set up.
(15) Wisaka takes on the older horses but does boast a $5.50 SP two back to Horrifying who has come out and run very well in the QLD Derby.

Good little race. (16) Maybe The Best couldn’t have been more impressive on debut at Echuca, racing near the speed and bolting in, posting some strong sectionals late. Some bookmakers have her as short as $1.65 Tuesday night which seems crazy. Very progressive but if she’s starting those odds I have to try and get her beat.
(13) Lindhout looks the most likely to do that. I really like the fact that she’s drawn out here after trying to take inside runs from barriers 3 and 1 at both starts this prep. First up at Sale I thought she tried hard behind a handy mare but resented being on the inside of horses, and it was a similar story when tight for room last start. Hefel is riding in career best form and can give the favourite a race.
(15) Ayahuasca next best for Kah getting back onto a good track.
Not really getting each way odds about Lindhout at $1.70 the place. If Maybe The Best continues to firm and we do see $2 I’d be happy to have a good crack at the place for Lindhout.

Interesting race, and also interesting to note Kah taking the ride on (12) Fiery Red for the first time. He looks to lead this race for fun and whilst he was a touch disappointing last start given the run he had, I think he might need to go a bit faster in front. No problems with Kah rating him and I don’t think the 1400m will be an issue 4th up.
Kah jumps off (9) Bermadez from his first up win at Pakenham where he came from a long way back. Olly did ride the horse on debut where he led and walked in, so perhaps the ride was always his to come back to, but it’s not often Kah is kicked off a winner. The map is a bit sticky from 15 if they give Fiery Red a head start.
(11) Vibrant Glider was good at Flemington first up and I think the map is okay from 1 if he can settle close enough.
(7) Beaute Pour Toi was caught wide at his Aus debut and whilst he showed nothing, he can only improve.

(6) Over The Sky should be hard to beat in the last. I took him on at The Bool and was seemingly the only one to do so because he was backed off the map and rounded them up with ease. Horses that made wide runs from the back at The Bool have generally been running very well because it wasn’t easy to do, and this horse should go close again. 1300m to 1600m is maybe some query but if he brings his run in the Silverbowl final from last prep at the mile he’s got these covered.
(10) Smokin’ Romans has turned into a fairly consistent horse and can roll forward from the gate. He was only run down late last start and I think he’s even better on dry tracks.
(15) Perennial hit the line hard from a long way back behind Kurabui first up which is very good form. Her sectionals home bettered the winners and she draws much better here. She’s run 2nd at both 2nd up starts and does drop 5kg.
(8) Excelleration might be ready for another crack at the mile after making late ground last start. His first up win was excellent.
Tip: (6) Over The Sky- $2.90 at TAB
Value: (15) Perennial- $9.60 at Sportsbetting
Betting Strategy: 2 units WIN Over The Sky, 1 unit PLC Perennial
