I think this bloke has gone up the wrong price and should be closer to favourite. (3) Alastor from the Kris Lees yard for Australian Bloodstock was very impressive in his debut run at Port Macquarie. At big odds on the day, he split the two favourites Standing Bear and Sian (who runs at Hawkesbury Thursday) after settling behind them both. He gets senior jockey Andrew Gibbons on which is ideal and the extra 100m is going to suit this Spill The Beans gelding second-up. From the 1300m, he should have enough time from the iffy gate to find a nice spot and be given every chance in the straight.
I am against the favourite (1) King of Seas who was formerly with Chris Waller. He is first-up since March last year and is bred for longer.
I am happy to make (3) Alastor my best bet of the day.

This is a very thin maiden with only a small amount of chances, and I think this filly has a lot of talent. (13) Miss Kojiki started her career with two placings but the company in which she ran against would romp in here. First-up last preparation she ran third behind Marboosha and Mrs Maisel at Muswellbrook over the 1000m before running second at this track and distance behind The Bopper (runs in Sydney on Saturday) in the Inglis 2yo Challenge. She showed enough talent for Todd Howlett to give her nice break and bring her back as a three-year-old. The Real Impact filly has had two good trials in the lead-up and I think she wins this and goes onto bigger and better things, maybe a Highway sooner rather than later. She is my next best bet for the day.

Happy to play two horses in the hopes that one of them is the winner. Firstly, (6) Margie Bee from the Kristen Buchanan yard won well first-up at Wyong before starting awkwardly at Gosford and being unplaced. In that run at Gosford, due to starting awkwardly she had to settle towards the rear and was not comfortable as she likes to lead and dictate. From the draw here at Scone, I expect her to zoom across and lead and give the punters a sight for their money in the straight at double figure odds.
(13) Zeftabrook is the other one I want to back. She is a lot better than what she produced at Wyong first-up, where she was beaten for speed and probably wasn’t a fan of the Wyong track. She gets back to a bigger track and country level where she will be a lot more competitive. The only issue will be where she gets to in the run but with even luck, she goes close here.

Thought I would throw one at the stumps in the last as there is a few different form lines coming together and many outcomes could come to fruition.
(11) Fifteen Rounds is on the quick back-up from Bathurst last Friday, where he narrowly missed behind Amicus Curiae. Before that he ran third behind a rival and favourite in this race (7) Toto.
I do concede that (7) Toto is the one to beat but our bloke meets him 1kg better off for the 0.7L defeat and is drawn to sit outside of him and possibly even boxing him in around the turn. He is worth a play at the price but I will be backing it up with a play on the favourite from the ideal draw.
