Warrnambool Racing Tips: Friday, March 26th

After finding a $16 winner at Kilmore yesterday, Billy Bestford is back with three selections for the ‘Bool on Friday afternoon.

Victorian horse racing heads to Warrnambool on Friday afternoon, before continuing on at Cranbourne in the evening.

The ‘Bool hosts eight races on a heavy 9 track, with the rail positioned in the 9m position.

After a $16 winner at Kilmore yesterday, Billy Bestford has found three races to bet in – Race 2, Race 4 and Race 5.

Hard to go past the flying (1) Field Of Lights at the moment who has won his past three in strong fashion. He beat Guns Ablazing last start who is a quality stayer and I think he can measure up here in the same grade. Must admit the big weight is a massive query but is the reason we are getting $3 at the moment. This guy will stay all day and is as tough as they come. Pretty confident he will be in this a long way.

Happy to put (2) Bellicosity on top in this 1200m maiden. Has been running well without much luck and looks ready to win here today. Been competitive in tougher races than he faces here and the drop back to 1200m looks a positive. Will probably go back from the wide gate and hopefully is the one to benefit from the hot speed up front.

(6) Witness Ex is an interesting runner who is only having her third start since debuting nearly two years ago. Ran okay last start in her first run since that debut and is going to take a massive amount of improvement from it. Step up to 1200m looks ideal and thought she could run a race.

Think (8) Knock Knock can run a good race here and is a chance to roll the favourite. Have always had time for this horse even though his strike rate isn’t too pretty. Back in grade for this and looks a much more suitable assignment than last start. Racing pattern is always a query but ran on well last start and is proven on the wet track. Think at the price he is worth a bet.

The other horse I’m keen to have something on is (9) Duchess Of Dorset who couldn’t have been more impressive on debut. Takes the obvious leap up in grade today and has the upside in comparison to his rivals.
