Warwick Farm Racing Tips: Wednesday, December 1st

Billy Bestford previews every race today, with his best bet coming up in race 6.

Warwick Farm Racing

Wednesday racing heads to Warwick Farm with a strong 7 race card to get us over the hump. It’s been wet once again this week in Sydney and the track is currently rated a heavy 8. The rail is out 3 metres.

Billy Bestford is back once again to give his thoughts on the card and has previewed every race this afternoon. Read on to find his best bets and betting strategy for the meeting.

This looks a handy maiden to kick off the day.

(1) Boomsong has been one I’ve had in my blackbook off his trials where he looked extremely sharp. Two of the most recent pieces of work were both at this track where he hit the line nicely under his own steam, winning easily. If he can transfer that sort of form to race day I expect he’ll be pretty hard to beat. Provided he handles the conditions I’m pretty keen on him.

(4) Sir Crackle promised a bit in his first prep following some good trials but just couldn’t put it together on race day. Has some strong formlines around some handy horses and his best is more than good enough for this.

(6) Kipsbay recently won a trial on heavy going in strong fashion. Gets Jmac on for Waller from a good barrier and we are getting $6.50+ Can be a big improver having 2nd start today and won’t be losing on him.

Tip: (1) Boomsong - $4.40 at Sportsbet

(4) Gulf Of Panama has had two trials on heavy tracks leading into his debut here. Has looked good in both and would expect Tim Clark to use his early speed from the low draw and lead them up here. Can safely say he will handle conditions and has been well backed in early markets.

(5) Pizarro was popular on debut before being beaten by a smart one. They gapped third and McDonald sticks for the ride again today. Will improve off that run but I have some query if it’s a bottomless track.

(6) Retrieval is having first start since being gelded and has plenty of race experience on his side. Look for an improved performance from him here.

There was money around for (8) Etheridge last start and he ran okay. Was good the run previous and I think he’s ready to do something now 4th up and out in trip. Handles wet and in an open race he isn’t the worst.

(1) Oceanic Flash is one of the few in this race who knows how to win. He goes in search of a third-straight win today and looks well placed after the 2kg claim. On the up.

(3) Zudin is back in grade for this and should find it a fair bit easier. Mixes his form a bit but his best is more than good enough to be competitive.

(10) Tea Leaves is next best but is becoming a costly horse to follow.

(10) Obvious Step can run well here dropping back in grade. Was having first start for a month when finishing 4th in a handy bm72. Will be improved off that run and while she finds it hard to win, won’t get a better chance to do so today back in grade and onto wet ground.

(5) This’llbetheone looks hard to beat and comes into this undefeated in two career starts. Was very tough last start rising in grade and can’t knock that performance. Some query onto wet ground and he looks short enough.

(7) Viennoiserie was a good winner on debut, beating home a horse who has since come out and won next start. She looked good at the trials leading into that debut run and looked even better once Tim Clark asked for an effort in the straight. She trialled well enough on a heavy 8 so the conditions shouldn’t pose too much of a concern.

(8) Hollywood Gossip rand 2nd to Lady Of Luxury last start and they gapped 3rd. She’ll put herself up on speed and will be the one they’ll all have to run down.

(10) Tornado Light looks a good roughie chance. Only three starts to her name where she’s yet to miss a placing and is proven in the conditions. Stable is flying.

(5) Rule Of Law is an interesting runner today. Is having first start since switching stables from the Snowdens while also having first start since being gelded. He took on some pretty hot races early in his career and is well back in grade for a race like this. I like the claim for Duggan which gets him in relatively light and he has performed well on wet tracks in the past. Won a barrier trial by 5L eased down leading into this and something tells me we might see the best of him tomorrow.

(1) Bombdiggity is a good wet tracker and won well first up. You’d think they roll forward again and make use of the 2kg claim. Could be tough to run down.

(12) Walkin’Talkin is a progressive 3yo who resumes today following a strong first prep. Won well at his 2nd start before only just being beaten by a smart one in Crazy Train. Can win.

Monster field to round out the day and it looks a tricky race.

(12) Honeycreeper goes well fresh and likes these wet conditions. Recent trial on a heavy track was good and she draws very nicely in gate 2. If the gaps come for her in the straight I think she can go very close.

No doubt (14) Comrade Rosa looks one of the more excting horses in this field and I was keen on her last start. Wasn’t helped by the track pattern there but still ran on very well considering the way the day played out. Will again be getting back and spotting them a start but if she handles the wet I think she’ll be hard to beat.

(15) My Snow Queen looks ready to win 3rd up. Went very close last start and should be suited getting out slightly in trip. If she has luck from the gate she will be right in this.

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
