Tough race to start the day especially with the query around how the weather will pan out. (4) Clear Blonde is who I have landed with on top, on the back of a placing at Newcastle. She had to go back from the barrier draw and travelled nicely before being crowded upon straightening. She was no match for the winner Seduction Queen, who beat her by 3.3 lengths. In her last three starts she has run into the likes of Seduction Queen, Angel Helena and city winner Sagacious. The mare does handle the softer going which looks as though it is going to be a positive and shouldn’t get too far off them from the draw in the nine-horse field. I think we will need some luck, so tread carefully.

(1) Amoretti gets the blinkers for the first time as he tackles Wyong against fourth-up. He looks to be able to handle the wet and is drawn to be effective.

(3) Castlecomer will appreciate the sting and should be fitter.

(6) Dance Too Hard next best.

I loved the way (3) Jana picked up in her latest run at Wyong. Coming from seventh in the run, she started to get into her work early and looked a little chance entering the straight before really picking up late and going down in a photo finish. She will be coming into this race third-up fit and her history shows that she is pretty effective in the wet going. I expect Rachel King to position her a touch closer in the run, and to be a real factor late once again.

(1) Jesse James has to carry a big weight from a wide draw on the wet going. He could go well, but I feel he has too much against him here.

(2) Chateaux Park won’t mind the draw as he normally goes back. Will be coming late.

(10) Dizzy Dawn next best.

This is a handy little stakes race in the middle of the card and I am looking forward to seeing (5) Barbaric back at the races. He was very impressive last preparation, breaking his maiden status against Joviality and Centimental before heading to Canberra for the Black Opal where he looked to find trouble in the straight before surging through to beat stablemate Bartley and favourite Cellsabeel. He has had just the one trial over the 1040m, where he led the entire away and given a stretch late. He is drawn ideally out of barrier three to stalk the leaders and has a history of performing well with the sting out of the ground. Hopefully, they race here as they are also entered for Randwick on Saturday.

(3) Spaceboy is a chance providing he backs up from Saturday’s failure. 1200m still a query for me but will love the track conditions.

(2) Eleven Eleven was disappointing first-up but I expect him to bounce back and be thereabouts.

(6) Count De Rupee next best.

Landed with (10) Testing Times for the Bjorn Baker stable in this wide-open race. He was unlucky last start at Gosford where he was caught wide but continued to fight to the line, finishing 1.5 lengths in seventh. The start before, he ran his opposition into the ground at Goulburn, winning by 4.8 lengths on the soft 6 going but the question is what did he beat that day? Probably not much but he did it with authority. He gets to step back 100m here with a nice draw, so expect Tim Clark to roll forward to give him every chance in this race. He will be super fit here third-up and gets a 2kg relief from last start, so I expect him to go very close here.

(5) On Her Word is very lightly raced and has performed well on the going in the past. Expect good improvement second-up.

(1) Wander will be hoping the rain continues because he loves it. Gets a 3kg claim though is drawn a touch awkward.

(6) Skyray next best.

This is a challenging race and so it should be, being the highlight of the day. I am banking on (15) Gleneagles getting a run here as I was quite impressed with his trial. The way he got into his work late with little encouragement showed just how much acceleration he has, and I can’t wait to see it on race day. The only query to me will be the track conditions, though that is the same with a lot of these.

(11) She’s All Class is nominated for Saturday as well and may come out to give the stablemate a run. She is drawn nicely to lead them up and could be hard to run down.

(16) Zarastro is second emergency here and nominated for Saturday also. He has a lot of talent and it won’t surprise me to see him run well.

(5) Alice Through next best.

I think this is one of the better bets of the day and I expect (4) Segrill to show everyone why. She fought on well last start at this track and distance to win by a narrow margin, despite sitting outside of the lead the entire way. Her record here at Wyong is good and as is the record over the mile. From the ideal draw, I expect her to be leader here or at least be on the rail just off them. Her best runs have come when they have been prominent with her and on the going, she will be able to grind to the line.

(1) Aristograts gets the 3kg claim and gets up to the mile where his record is good. Track conditions a slight query but I expect a bold run.

(2) Foxborough has the class and loves the wet. Drawn wide, so I expect them to be forward.

(9) Onemore Sapphire next best.
