The short-priced favourite (10) Polina looks well placed here to get her elusive maiden win. Three places in three starts where she has been unfortunate not to take one out. Her start two back was against a decent field where she closed to arrive third. Her latest start she was beaten by only 0.1 length to miss out. Ben Allen takes back over the reins on the Maher/Eustace runner and she should be pretty tough to hold out. Outside of her it looks tough.

The Prince/Kent runner (4) Single Crown looks hard to beat. Placed three times in the last four starts – including in a higher grade – he has been racing consistently without winning. Only 1 win from 15 starts, he is proving costly – but finds a winnable race today.

(1) Pufnstuf can improve back in grade while the same can be said for (2) Don’t Make Me Wait.

(1) Sasayuri stays at bm58 for another week (7^th time in a row) and lugs the 63.5 kgs for her efforts. She gets the 3kg claim which helps and faces a decimated field after scratchings. She has been super consistent and there is no reason why she cannot win again. Her chances are enhanced by the lack of competition, where most of the field can have a line drawn through them.

The Horse

The Horse found the thought of placing bets and drinking beers much more appealing once he was married, and that led to an interest in the many intricacies of The Great Game. He enjoys the challenge of predicting what will happen in any given race, but also loves horses themselves, none more so than the mighty mudlark Jungle Edge. His focus lies on metropolitan racing in Victoria and NSW, however isn’t afraid to find one out wide. Away from racing, The Horse is an avid drummer – quite a difficult task with a set of hooves.
