(2) Halcyon House is no stranger to carrying weight and will have to do so here first-up over 1100m. He has run two placings first-up in his career with his latest running 2.3 lengths in third behind Melik. This field he faces today doesn’t look like it has a lot of depth so he should be able to put them to the sword in the straight from a nice draw. I personally think only bad luck beats him, but stranger things have happened.

I think this is one of the best bets of the day. (2) Onemorechoice had a forgetful trip to Randwick last start where has was forced to race wide without cover for the entire event. Before that his form was good, narrowly winning at Tamworth over the mile and narrowly losing over 1400m at the same track. Reece Jones sticks with him, which will give him a 1.5kg claim, which will bring him in nicely and he will just have to contend with a poor draw to be competitive. He should stroll forward from barrier 7 and sit on the pace throughout and be hard to beat.
