(7) Knight is who have settled with in the opening race of the day due to the lack of speed on paper. The Helmet gelding is coming off two good runs around some serious form that is good enough to win this comfortably. Two back he was no match for Perfect Radiance but beat home two horses who have won well since in Bluff ‘N’ Bluster and Brook Hill. Last start he stepped up to 1400m and led the entire way for a one length victory, with the horse running third in High Supremacy, running a solid second in the Group 3 Spring Stakes at Newcastle. He comes into this race fourth-up with a good draw and will no doubt be in the front two and gets a strong rider in Nash Rawiller aboard. He will relish the firm surface and will appreciate dropping back 3kg on his last run.

I think (5) Secretly Awesome can run a bold race here second-up. I am looking at a much more improved run dropping back 4.5kg. He won’t be going around without some of my money in case.

(3) Atlantic King brings some nice formlines in, but the map does worry me. Will be flashing late.

Tricky Highway race once again this week and I have decided to go a touch wider with (9) Boom and Zoom. I love the fact this girl has drawn the inside barrier, especially with this race having little speed. She should get a nice run either leading on the rails or just off on the rails. Two back she was just beaten at Nowra over the mile before taking charge last start at the Sapphire Coast and winning by 5.3 lengths on the heavy going. She carries no weight and has the experience Shaun Guymer aboard who knows her well, so I strongly believe she is a top chance in this race at juicy odds.

(10) She’s All In is another as juicy odds who will head forward from barrier 14. Carries no weight with Brock Ryan aboard and will be in the race for a long way.

(3) Obelos is a smokey with Winona Costin back on board. She should give him a peach ride from a good draw.

(2) Wichita Warrior next best.

This looks like quite a poor 2000m race and have settled with (3) Navy Cross with his fitness in mind. He will no doubt be fighting fit after his last two runs on the heavy carrying the 59kg. Two back over the mile he was good without being great in fourth before a much more improved run, running second to Archanna over the 1900m. Getting to 2000m on his fourth run this preparation and back on top of the ground is a recipe for success, and despite the wide draw, Tim Clark should be able to lead and run his rivals into the ground.

(16) First Courrier will carry no weight and is ideally drawn to become a pest for our top pick. Seems the only logical horse that sits on pace that poses a threat to our pick.

(14) Significance becomes a player for exotics and for the win IF they go forward from the wide draw.

(5) Kirwin’s Lane next best.

(7) Destination is a good bet here in the fourth and should go very close to saluting. Hopefully from barrier two, Hugh Bowman goes into a prominent position, especially with the amount of speed engaged here over the 1000m. He just needs to make sure he sits midfield to get enough room in the straight, without coming too wide. He is the best horse in this race, I hope they ride him like he is.

(5) Mansa Musa first-up is the big danger for mine. Will push forward from barrier seven and he generally goes well fresh.

(8) Hulk is drawn nicely and will get his chance providing he doesn’t sit too far off them.

(3) Broken Arrows next best.

I can’t go past the favourite here in (2) Big Parade. This looks a pretty shallow race and he just gets plenty of boxes ticked. He is coming back from a short let-up where he had been gelded which should calm him down and enhance his focus. He generally goes well fresh, will go forward from the wide barrier, has carried this sort of weight in the past and Josh Parr riding, are all positives in his favour. He doesn’t have to lead this race in my opinion as he should have them covered either way.

(1) Pandemic is the clear second pick and has the task of carrying the big weight also. Form lines have stood up from his last race.

(9) Ghostly knows how to run a cheeky race here and I would be including in all exotics.

(6) Mo’s Crown next best.

(2) Intrepidacious returned in fine fashion at Warwick Farm last month and looks like she could continue that form here second-up. She sat on the inside of Junglized before streaking away for a nice 2.8 length victory. Since then, she has saluted in two 1000m trials which would have kept her nice and fit for this 1200m event. She only goes up 0.5kg from that run and Rachel King will just have to deal with a slightly sticky draw, but if she can, she is well worth the risk at the price.

(9) Macroura returned well first-up and meets a tougher field here second-up. Will be handy from the draw and you have to respect her on her past form.

(1) Helga is silly odds and can run a very cheeky race. First-up stats are okay and will probably want further but she is worth chucking in the exotics.

(6) Dunbrody Power next best.

The main event of the afternoon and I favour two runners. (7) Dawn Passage has returned in good form this preparation with a solid placing in the Silver Eagle before a surprisingly run in the Golden Eagle on the heavy going, where he placed in third by less than a length. Back on top of the ground will be to his advantage and coming into this one third-up is ideal. I think Tim Clark can get him into a good spot from the inside barrier and he will be hard to hold out late.

(11) Purple Sector is the other I want to play. He was immense over the mile at Randwick two back, winning by three lengths before he went to Melbourne for a run on Cup day. He handled it well, saluting by less than half a length despite jockey Craig Williams losing an iron in the run. Gets in well in the weights and drawn ideally.

(14) Asiago finally draws a gate and will settle further forward you would expect. Include in exotics.

(3) Cascadian next best.

(8) Elaborate was super tough when winning on resumption this preparation beating home noted wet tracker Stockman and Zakat over the 1400m. The best bit about this bloke is, the further the better. He may have won first-up on heavy going, but his form he is just as good if not better on top of the ground. He gets to keep the same weight and gains Nash Rawiller which is a big tick and the draw is okay, I think by this point of the day, they would have figured out the way the track is playing. Not a bad each-way play.

(3) Soldier of Love was fair first-up at Goulburn but history shows he gets better as the preparation goes on.

(9) Vegas Jewel gets a low weight and is drawn ideally. Back to a mile suits also.

(1) Berdibek next best.

(10) Greek Hero may finally run from an ideal draw. I had it on top the previous times when it has been scratched, hopefully they head to Kembla Grange tomorrow. He should sit handy to the speed off a soft draw and there is a high chance the Freedman/Rawiller combination can go back to back. This is a pretty weak race and I will be surprised if he gets beaten.

(5) Cuban Royale was impressive third-up and with Bowman going aboard, expect a bold run from him on his home track.

(7) Night Power has been gelded and I expect a much more improved run to start this preparation. Back on top of the ground suits also.

(4) Misteed next best.
