This is his race to lose in my opinion and hopefully they can come away with the win and break that maiden status. (6) Still In Fashion solid in both career runs with the latest being a 1.5 length second to a talented one. He beat the rest of the field well, so I am willing to stay with him, especially stepping up to the 1500m. He will be fighting fit for this assignment and hopefully Mitchell Bell can get him into a nice position from barrier four and really give these a lesson late in the race.

Coming back to her home track, (6) Ludivine should get a much kinder run then the one that was dished up to her last start. At Tuncurry, she was blocked all the way up the straight and when she looked to get clear and start to accelerate, she was again blocked. She comes back in distance which is okay, and she gives me the indication that the soft/heavy going won’t worry her. Mikayla Weir will have to go back from that wide barrier, and she will need luck, so hopefully with a fair track and Mikayla on her bike early, she can run a slashing race.

Betting around two in this race and the prices will change with a couple to come out, but I am confident we have a winner between the two. (4) Dashing ‘N’ Daring ran good first-up, which is out of his ordinary as that was the first time he has won first-up in six attempts. His record second-up is immaculate and the conditions will suit him down to the ground. He runs well at this track in which both runs were over this distance. He will go close from the barrier. (7) Go Gadget is up to the 1500m for the first time, but he gives me the indication that it won’t be an issue. The last two runs he had drawn poorly and went back which is against his usual pattern. The draw is much kinder to him here and he relishes the conditions, so with the legend Robert Thompson aboard, I expect a much better run that what he produced in his last two.

Another race where I want to bet around two. (3) Frontline was impressive in terrible conditions at Scone last start, saluting by just under a length. I feel he could have won by more had it been longer, but he does get that extra 180m today and a decent draw to boot. He beat home Foxstorm that day by almost two lengths and he come out and won nicely at Gilgandra on Sunday. Providing he gets a luckless run, he should be right in the finish. (5) Commando Hunt also ran in those conditions at Scone on the same day, putting it all together to win impressively over this distance by 1.5 lengths. Still In Fashion ran second that day but a decent margin, which makes his run even better. He will have a nice fitness advantage on the track conditions that he doesn’t mind. The in-form Christian Reith stays aboard and I expect them to hold the rail and wait for the cutaway before making his move.
