Happy to side with (5) Deepwood Vale here who presents 4th up and stretches out to the mile for just the 2nd time in her career. She put in a big performance last start, making a lot of ground late and hit the line strongly to run 2nd. The step up in trip looks ideal and she gets a 3kg claimer in Reece Jones.

(2) War Cat is as consistent as they come and will race up on the speed and give a kick as always. Was only beaten by a length by a smart horse last start and will take some catching. 

(6) Continuation looks the value runner and is another horse who runs consistently into the minor money. Has had a nice little trial to keep him ticking over since last start and can run well here at odds.

(1) Emilette returns to racing today and is a proper speedster. Ran well in some strong metro races towards the end of last prep and resumes today over the 900m which she loves. Wide draw is a slight concern but with any luck she can be right in the finish. 

(9) Tango Stepz is well tried over this specialist distance with 7 starts for 2 wins and a placing. He gets in light with a 3kg claim and is a winning chance. 

(2) Iamacrumpet is another horse who runs well over this short trip and if she can find the front from the wide gate, she may be hard to run down. Ran well in a strong race fresh at Musswellbrook and will take improvement from that.
