Tidy little race to start the evening here with (1) Belieber looking to make it back to back wins since returning. The win last start at Wyong was better than it looked, beating his nearest opposition by 3 lengths and the rest of the field by at least 8.5 lengths. He is a lot better than benchmark 68 class which I am sure they will show here. They are drawn nicely to take up the running once again and is a high chance of getting an easy time of it in front before streaking away in the straight. He should be beating these.

(5) Escape Artist will get the first chance at (1) Belieber throughout and should be running home well. Definitely worth chucking in your quinellas.

(3) Tiny returns after a short break and is drawn nicely to get a nice run throughout.

(6) My Ruby next best.

This girl had a decent first preparation without it being great, but she did have excuses on her last start before her break. (4) Windsweep finished last preparation 4.4 lengths back in fifth at Kembla Grange behind promising gallopers Private Eye and Crosscheck. She was slow to begin on the day before being held up rounding the home turn and again approaching and passing the 200m mark. Both her careers runs have been on heavy going, and I think she will be much better on top of the ground. There doesn’t look to be a lot of speed here, so I expect her to be prominent from the awkward barrier. Providing she gets even luck here, she will be in the finish.

(7) Tastebud returned nicely at Gosford and will come on nicely from the run. If she gets an easy time in front, she might be too hard to catch.

(2) Flexible has shown some abilities at the trials, but now she needs to bring it to race day.

(1) Brookspire next best.

(1) Exoboom looks a nice type and despite his nice run on debut has since been gelded during his short break. In that debut run, they had to go back from the wide barrier, which proved the difference in the end as they couldn’t bridge the gap between themselves and the leader, who ended up holding on to win by a length. The form around the other runners in the top four has stood up nicely, with the winner Rule of Law winning next start, Sidearm performing well over it’s next three where it also won and of course Luvoir, who has won three times since. They will probably go back from the draw and will need some luck, but I think he will give us a sight for our money late.

(5) Lennon ran okay at Kembla and is drawn a lot better here to have a greater effect.

(6) Supreme Leader has been good without winning and may have found a race to try break his run of placings.

(2) Apollate next best.

Gone a touch wider here as I think there is going to be some serious speed in this race and how many times have we seen something fly home in sprints races at Kensington? (10) Kawaikini is a veteran in the ranks nowadays and is still racing well at the ripe age of seven. She was particularly good last start at Canterbury without being a match for the promising Najmah. She was plain the start prior at Port Macquarie, and I suspect she just wasn’t up to it on the day. She sticks to the benchmark 72 and drops back into mares grade which brings her in nicely despite the wide draw. She will go back from the draw and Jason Collett will be hoping she winds up with ease as they round the bend. She is nice each way odds.

(5) Sally’s Day is the one to beat in my eyes but will need luck from the barrier first-up. She is a top chance if she gets in and gets luck.

(3) Longbottom will be dropping back this start and will be coming late with our pick.

(2) Lillemor next best.

(13) Significance gets a run as second emergency and I believe he is the one they have to beat. His run at Kembla Grange was massive without winning after sitting off a solid tempo and hitting the lead early in the straight. From there, he was a sitting duck, with the others benefitting more from the solid tempo. Our boy kept fighting to the line to finish 1.2 lengths in fourth. He is drawn okay here to get a similar run and drops back 200m whilst dropping back in grade, which could prove a nice winning formula. Although there looks to be a little speed, I don’t think it will be as intense as the start prior but the step back in distance will be a key factor for him if the speed is intense.

(5) Montserrat will be forward with Ulusaba and will likely move to the lead in the straight with the 2kg claim of Tom Sherry. They will have to catch him.

(9) Liveinthefastlane is weighted poorly compared to previously but gets James McDonald which is always a plus. He will be flying late.

(3) Nyami next best.

(7) Our Bellagio Miss had an incredible run at Kembla Grange first-up, finishing two lengths behind Hulk whilst beating home some nice sprinters. She adds even more merit to her run as she blundered near the 900m mark and raced wide and without cover throughout. She drops back in grade here second-up but again has drawn poorly and will need some luck in the run to obtain a spot. If she can get into a spot just off the lead with cover, she is going to be mighty hard to hold out. Let’s hope she gets it.

(5) Invincible Lad is at nice odds for a horse who will be stalking this potential hot speed. Been consistent over his past two and can win here.

(4) Emilette will be handle bars down from the wide barrier and will be the one they need to catch.

(6) Rover next best.

There is very little speed in this race and (9) Pitchfork is going to love every second of it. He showed his class last preparation with back to back wins before heading for a spell and he should have enough residual fitness and class to salute here. Although he is drawn awkwardly, it is expected Bowman will go forward with (6) Isorich and dictate the race throughout. He will take over the running at the top of the straight and prove very hard to run down.

(4) Big Bad Bruce was impressive at Wyong and won’t mind a slightly bigger track. Will go back from the wide draw and be coming late.

(12) Notabadidea is a model of consistency and seems to pop up every race.

(1) Safado next best.
