Going with the first starter in (12) Hide Your Heart here. I just loved the lead-up trials, and she looks to have a bit of ability. Both trials she chased horses and accelerated nicely when asked and I like the booking of Tim Clark. She is drawn ideally for her first race start and I expect her to be no worse than midfield. She is a nice each-way price to find out how good she is.
(6) Sliders has the race day experience and won nicely at Newcastle. She will be good when the penny drops but still good enough to win this one.
(5) Hunnam is a forgive after his first run and gets the blinkers on which will help him.
(11) Centro Storico next best.

Playing two horses in this race, one more so than the other. (2) Almania is the best horse in this race by a country mile and does have to carry the 61kg like he did in his Australian debut at Flemington during the spring carnival. Bowman sticks and he gets to a distance more suitable here after 3 weeks off. I am expecting a peach from the favourable draw.
(5) Shakespear’sgalley is the other international at massive odds. Gets back on top of the ground here and looks to get an easy lead. At $41, he won’t be going around without some of my money.
(1) He Runs Away is drawn to be effective and gets a 2kg claim. Another who will love the good going.
(7) Relucent next best.

(5) Another One looks like he will do just that to his win column here. The Super One gelding was extremely impressive at Wagga, making light work of his opposition by 3.5 lengths in nice time. His form is immaculate, narrowly going down to Lion’s Roar on debut before winning the Lamont Classic. He is the one to beat here and should get into a nice position from a better barrier after these scratchings are removed. Not often that I am this confident on a highway race.
(11) Warrah Flash gets Nash Rawiller on which is ideal an gets to a much more suitable distance now. Good each way chance.
(9) Crackerjack Kenny has been consistent and will love the better draw.

If you want to see a horse absolutely flying but then has no where to go over the final 100m, check out (8) Darleb in his last start run. Although the form will read as a seventh, he would have fought out the win had he got clear running over the final 100m. He ended up going down by 1.7 lengths which isn’t bad, especially considering he had to come from near last. Nash retains the ride and is drawn much better here to get into a nice spot throughout. I look forward to seeing him over the 1300m again on the projected good surface.
(9) He’s A Hotshot was scratched from Canterbury for this and although the draw looks awkward, he is ready for this distance.
(5) Promotions will have to go forward from that barrier to even get into a nice spot. Should be there in the finish.

(12) Lady Banff is who I want to be with after a soft trial in the lead up to this. She started off last preparation with a win on the heavy going before not doing so well second-up on exactly the same ground. Forget her last run at Rosehill where she took no further part in the race after the rider became unbalanced passing the 300m mark. I love the addition of James McDonald and she is drawn to be handy throughout without leading or being outside the lead. Her best form comes on top of the ground, where she has comfortably beat home Anders and The Drinks Cart. This is the lowest weight she has carried since her first start, and I will be disappointed if she isn’t going close to winning this race.
(7) Plaquette is the main rival and one to beat. Coming back to Sydney after a good run up the Flemington straight. Deserved favourite.
(4) Jay Jay D’ar is nice odds especially if the track is playing fair.

Not a big fan of this race from a form or betting perspective and have landed with (6) Greysful Glamour on top. She has had a pretty mixed preparation and in her last start she finished a fair way back in the TAB Matriarch. This is a very winnable race for her as there appears to be little speed to contest against her and will stroll across with little weight. She has been racing in much better company and this is a step back. With the addition of Rachel King who knows her well, I expect a well timed ride on her preferred ground and for her to be well around the money.
(11) Rocha Clock is coming off a nice win at Flemington in the Inglis Bracelet and will tackle the 2000m for the first time. She gives the indication she will get it and with no weight will be flying late.
(9) Laure Me In is in good form and I expect that to continue.

(15) Through The Cracks is my pick for this race and I will be hoping the track is playing nice and fair. He was amazing at Newcastle, reeling in the field with ease to win by just under a length. 1500m looks ideal for him and although he is drawn wide, he gets no weight with Robbie Dolan aboard. He should sit a touch worse than midfield and all Robbie has to do is give him space as the enter the straight, and I believe the horse will do the rest. Starting to find it’s right price now.
(10) Outrageous was brilliant first-up at Flemington and with Tommy Berry to ride, he looks the danger.
(6) Phaistos has drawn ideally and will appreciate being back on top of the ground.

This is a race where I will be playing two horses. (14) Varda will be my default on topper after her nice run in the Century Stakes. Before she went down for that race, she had won all four of her races in Sydney and showed she had some nice talent. She will sit just behind the speed here and even without Villami and Blazing Miss, there still looks to be some solid speed on paper. I expect McEvoy to stalk the speed before producing her 300m out. She should be hard to hold out.
(4) Snitz is the other one I want to have money on. His first-up record is good, trialled up nicely and gets a strong rider in Nash Rawiller aboard. He is going to love being back on a firmer surface and he could out fight his opposition if provoked into a speed battle.
(10) Poetic Charmer is massive odds and I wouldn’t be leaving him out of your exotics or quaddies with a nice first-up record like his.

(12) On The White Turf does look massive overs in the get-out stakes here. He flew home at Canterbury last start in nice fashion beating home Bob’s Your Uncle who won last night and Criminal Code who was third in that same race. He is definitely going to like staying at 1500m and is drawn to sit in a similar position to last start. Kerrin McEvoy going on shows intent that the horse is going well and he has shown he can mix it with good horses in the past. Just think the price is too good to refuse each-way.
(11) Great News is the logical danger after a nice win at Newcastle.
(14) Miss Einstein was scratched from Canterbury for this race, she will be flying late.
(4) Betcha Flying next best.
