(8) Still in Fashion has had two nice trials in the lead up to this one but judging by them and a close source, he is definitely going to be looking for further than what he debuts at. 1300m is a good start for him and despite a horror draw, he has a confident senior jockey in Aaron Bullock so that itself should give a punter confidence. Will come into at least barrier 14 after scratchings and will need a peach from Bullock to salute here. One thing is for sure, he will be coming late in the piece.

This is a cracking race in the middle of the card. (4) Fritz’s Factor is looking for three on the trot here and I think he is in well enough to do so. He was too good for his rivals in the Warren Sprint, saluting by almost four lengths. The start before he beat some quality mid-week gallopers at Gosford by a length. He is drawn a touch awkward here, but Reece Jones should be able to get him into a nice midfield position and he has a brilliant record at both this track and distance. This race will have a lot of pace and he should just camp off it before making his move in the straight.

Paul Messara must be cursing after the draw’s that he has received at his home track today. (3) Mother’s Mercy has drawn barrier 18 and Mitchell Bell will have the task of making sure the undefeated mare isn’t too far off them. She made light work of her opposition first-up and put them away by a length, despite looking like she wasn’t sure how to do it. She will be much better for the run and is very talented. The extra 100m suits and staying at home will only be a positive for her. She is the one to beat but will need luck to go her way early.
