Tricky race to start the day but I think (4) Ranch Hand can make a successful debut. The son of Fastnet Rock has had two trials in preparation for this one and showed nice improvement from his first trial to his second. In the second trial, he was second about a length to a well fancied runner in Remarque and he showed nice acceleration late in the piece. He is drawn nicely and should get a chance to let down in the straight, providing he can handle the potential slow going, though he looked okay in his latest trial on a similar surface.
(1) Mura Mura brings all the form and is one of three runners who have had race day experience. She has to carry 2kg more than her opposition but based off her two runs, it is well deserved. She will be prominent from the draw and could prove too classy if she is given an easy time.
(6) Selhurst Park has trialled well and I expect a bold showing from him.
(12) Honeycreeper next best.

(4) Overlord is the one I want to back being the best maiden going around at the moment. He returns here a gelding and gets the boost of a solid draw. The track conditions won’t worry him, and history shows at Warwick Farm, you can run-on and come wide and be successful. The last two times I have had him in the numbers he has been scratched so let’s hope it’s third time lucky.
(11) Flexible was too far back last start but when she balanced up, she really let down well. She is another that just needs to handle the track conditions.
(1) Adelaide’s Light was impressive on debut behind Duais and comfortably beat the rest of the field by over 4.5 lengths. The draw looks poor, but it won’t matter so long as he handles the wet track.
(3) Captivare next best.

(2) Harpo Marx lands on top for me here after a very convincing win at Wyong last start. After a well time run by Rachel King, the well-bred Galileo gelding streaked away from his opposition with ease. Although this is much harder, I do believe he is much better suited to this distance despite failing twice in the past. I think the softer ground will enhance his chances and the likelihood of it being a nice run-on track gives him a big chance.
(1) Kutayha is bred to be able to handle the going but it yet to run over 1900m and has to carry the top weight. Based on his recent form, he should be right in this.
(3) Notabadidea if he backs up, can run a big race.
(8) Sirmaze next best.

(4) Atlantic King should improve dramatically off his last start failure at Rosehill. They changed the tactics to ride him further forward last start and that was his downfall after sitting outside the leader the entire way. I love the step back to a mile on a track where he should be able to make good headway. He is drawn nicely and Hugh Bowman should be able to put him into a nice spot throughout. I have no queries over the ground and strongly believe it will enhance his chances.
(6) Foxborough loves these sort of conditions and should be prominent throughout the race. She gets the benefit of a bigger track and the booking of James McDonald so she should be in this race up to her ears.
(1) Bergen won nicely second-up and will looks to appreciate the step up to a mile.

This girl has been well backed already and it’s not hard to see why. (10) Shaik has some terrific form on the board in her first preparation and returned in nice fashion first-up, going down by 0.3 lengths to rival (2) Miss Dior to whom she meets 4.5kg better off. Since that defeat, she has changed stables and had a nice tick over trial so she should be raring to go here. She will love the sting out of the ground and the booking of Tommy Berry just gives me greater confidence.
(7) Ready to Soar is in some serious form and has a win on the heavy going. There is a lot of speed in this race which I think depletes her chances a touch but her form can get her through.
(9) Irish Angel loves the wet going and will be flying late.

I think (7) Invincible Lad is a terrific each-way bet here on the back of a brilliant run at the Kensington track. After losing ground at the start, our gelding had to race back in the field which is against his usual pattern and flew home to go down by 1.5 lengths in second. He beat home Our Bellagio Miss who has since won in town in a much tougher race. The extra 100m here suits and the draw is probably going to be perfect for this time of the meeting. He won’t mind the sting out of the ground, so expect a bold run.
(6) Deference doesn’t mind the sting out of the ground and gets the blinkers on for the first time. He should be a terrific chance.
(11) Super Effort is resuming after a successful campaign in Queensland. Query is on if the form stands up.

Tough race to end on but I think (14) Spokesman is over the odds here and he comes back a bit lighter. Since last preparation, he has been gelded and trialled twice in the lead up to this. His last trial was nice, and he accelerated nicely after one crack with the whip. He is going to be fighting fit first-up and his best runs have come on tracks with a bit of give. I think 1300m is a solid starting point and he should give us a sight.
(8) Strawb is who I have been with all preparation and had they booked a regular Sydney jockey I would be on, just want to see her with a confident rider. She has many risks, but she has talent.
(6) Rammstein gets J-Mac aboard and will be in a superior position for a long way.
