The feature race of the day sees a quality field of 12 runners do battle over the mile. I’m keen to side with (5) Zigallene who comes into this off a very good 3rd in a strong Saturday race in QLD. She finished less than a length off Prospectus and Indispensable there, both horses who would start strong favourites in a race like this. Absolutely swims and should roll forward from the wide gate and give us a good sight.
(9) Mandalong Tapit looks the best value runner in the race and is a much better horse with his toe in the ground. Was last seen running a very narrow 2nd to Bajan Gold over this trip in the Gunnedah Cup and maps for a nice run.
(12) Texas Storm loves these country cups and has been running very well lately. Finished 4th in a strong Scone Country Cup before a good 2nd in the Wingham Cup at Taree. SP profile is very good and has a class edge on a lot of these.
(1) Jazzland next best and won this race last year but just not sure how well he’s going.

(3) Ausbred Cooee looks hard to beat off the back of an impressive maiden win last start on a wet Coffs Harbour track. Bolted in by over 4L there and looks ready for the mile now. That maiden win was a long time coming but I’m hoping it might’ve been the confidence booster this horses needed and can go on with it now.
(4) Hubble finished 4th a long way behind the smart Orbisyn two back before starting favourite in a similar race to this at Grafton where he ran 3rd. Should get through the conditions fine but winning strike rate is the concern.
