Grafton is one of two meetings in New South Wales on Sunday afternoon, with eight races on the card.

The track is rated a Soft 5 with the rail out 4.5m for the entire circuit and Billy Bestford has identified two bets for the meeting.

He’ll kick things off in Race 4, before rounding out his selections in the Yamba Cup, which is Race 6.

I think today is finally the day for (13) Think Glory who has been so close to breaking through in recent starts. Once again she goes around as favourite but I think she strikes one of the more winnable races she has faced today. The wide barrier suits and she hit the line strongly last start with a win looking just around the corner. Has had a little freshen up in the lead up to this race and I can’t see anything else in the race posing her too many issues today.

Keen on the chances of the (3) The Drake in the Yamba Cup who ran well in a strong race last start at Newcastle. Finished 3rd that day behind Mr Polar and generally performs strongly with a run under his belt. Will be able to sit just off the speed and enjoy a nice run in transit if he can get over from the wide barrier and be hard to hold out at the business end of the race. Rexx is the main danger who will probably lead and take some running down. Happy to side with The Drake who has strong recent form on the board and arguably is the best horse in this field. The price on offer looks fair and I am happy to play.
