Race 2 – Class 4 1650m – 10.15pm AEDT

Something small each way on (1) Happy Land at $9.00 for Zac Purton and Danny Shum. This horse has had four starts in Hong Kong, all of which have been in Class 3. He has failed to finish any better than 6th in those four starts, but he drops into Class 4 for the first time tonight and Purton goes straight on replacing Harry Bentley. He comes up with barrier 1 which is a perfect draw over 1650m on the B course. Can give this a shake.

Tip: (1) Happy Land $9.00/$2.95 Bet365

Betting strategy: 0.5 units E/W Happy Land

Race 7 – Class 4 1650m – 12.45am AEDT

Best bet of the night comes up here with (3) Red Majesty for Zac Purton and David Hayes. I was on this horse last start when he was driven mad out the front by a few of the cowboys on 150/1 pops. He never got a moment’s peace and stuck on well for 3rd, which under the circumstances was a good effort. Started $2.30 that night and comes into this under very similar conditions with a good draw and Zac in the saddle. Provided they don’t hammer him out the front tonight, he should be very hard to beat again.

Moreira’s horse (7) Breeze Of Spring has run 2nd in two starts at Sha Tin this preparation. Gets back to Happy Valley now and up to 1650m with a soft draw. Looks the logical danger to the favourite and at $4.80 we can save on him.

Tip: (3) Red Majesty $3.30 Bet365

Saver: (7) Breeze Of Spring $4.80 TopSport

Betting strategy: 2 units WIN Red Majesty, 0.5 units WIN Breeze Of Spring

TopSport

Race 9 – Class 3 1200m – 1.50am AEDT

Something small each way on (5) Perfect Glory to finish the night. He’s currently $7.50/$2.60. Draws barrier 1 over the 1200m first up. He has a good first up record with three wins and a 2nd from four attempts, and his best form has been at this track and distance. Should get a good run from the inside draw, just needs a good ride from Chad Schofield. The query is he was awful in three starts last preparation.

Tip: (5) Perfect Glory $7.50/$2.60 Ladbrokes

Betting strategy: 0.5 units E/W Perfect Glory

A trip to Hong Kong quickly had Tim hooked to the racing caper, maintaining the best place anywhere in the world on a Wednesday night is Happy Valley. He holds a strong interest in the Hong Kong form, along with the metropolitan racing in Sydney and Melbourne. He’s a fan of dry tracks, Zac Purton and takes particular interest in identifying patterns in the form. Tim wears many hats, juggling the roles of form analyst, jockey manager and racehorse owner.
