Not a race I’m overly keen on to start the day but (1) Aeecee Express looks the hardest to beat in an open maiden. Has looked the part in two trials at Rosehill and Randwick where he won both. The most recent in particular was impressive, where he showed plenty of speed to lead throughout and win under his own steam. Should run well on debut today.

(3) Best Side looks the pick of the race-experienced horses with a hard fought 4th on debut at Randwick in wet conditions. Should be up on the speed with Aeecee Express and will take plenty of improvement from that debut run.

(4) Briggs resumes as after being gelded following a debut 6th in a strong 2 year old race towards the end of last year. Has trialled nicely and can also be a big improver in his 2nd preparation.

Tip: (1) Aeecee Express - $2.30 at Sportsbet

(9) Riduna came extremely close to knocking off the well-regarded Ashema when she made her debut a few weeks ago. She was the eye-catcher of the race flying down the outside fence and will only improve off that debut run. Hoping she can bring that form to a dry track here today.

Thought (7) Hide Your Heart was a touch over the odds here. Was spelled after a disappointing debut in a strong Saturday race which has turned out to be a handy form reference. She started $7 on the day and has since trialled very nicely in readiness for this. Can be a big improver.

(12) Your Too Good makes her debut today after looking to have some talent at the trials. She ran 2nd under a hold behind Billiondollarbaby in her first trial and that horse was a very impressive winner last week. Most recent trial was just as good but will need luck from the wide gate.

Tip: (9) Riduna - $3.95 at Sportsbetting

Value: (7) Hide Your Heart - $11 at Sportsbet

(6) Ladylovestogamble is flying and thought she could make it three in a row here today. Has bolted in her last couple starts and now gets a well-deserved chance in this grade where I think she can measure up. She was pulling away from them on the line last start so the step up to 2100m here looks to suit. Can race up on speed and be hard to catch today.

(2) Relucent looks hardest to beat and brings some stronger form to a race like this. Was hitting the line strongly last start behind Blesk and Highmaster and now steps up to the longer trip. Goes well 3rd up and can enjoy a gun run with Jmac on board from gate 3.

(5) Dylan’s Romance continues to race well and was only narrowly beaten last start. Usually is suited out on trip and can take some running down on his day.

Tip: (6) Ladylovestogamble - $3.60 at Bet365

Betting Strategy: 1u WIN Ladylovestogamble

No knock on the undefeated filly (2) Majestic Shot who has been working her way through the grades and faces her toughest task to date here. She has absolutely walked in her four career starts and the step to bm64 grade two weeks ago posed no problems. She rises slightly to 1100m which shouldn’t be an issue and expect her to go on with it today.

The big danger is (3) Pinnacle Prince. He has the form on the board having only been beaten once in 4 career starts, where he ran 2nd to It’s Me. Finished off last prep with two Saturday Highway wins at Randwick, absolutely loves the 1100m and is unbeaten fresh. Can run some very quick sectionals on his day and will be running on late.

(4) Let It Pour is still stuck on just the one win in 15 career starts but is a strong performer 1st up. Has been going around in some good quality benchmark races and now finds a winnable race here today.

Tip: (2) Majestic Shot - $2.35 at Sportsbetting

(9) Exoboom will take some beating today from the gun draw. Trialled as good as you’ll see them trial in the lead up to this and is yet to miss the quinella in five career starts. Strung together two strong wins in a row to finish last prep and will enjoy all the favours from barrier 1 today. Jmac takes the ride and looks the best of the day.

Keen to have something on (3) Blaze A Trail who was extremely unlucky  in a bm78 last start behind Sky Lab. Has trialled nicely since then and drops back to 1300m which is a positive. Wide barrier is the slight concern but at the price I’ll be saving on him.

Don’t think (5) Knickpoint enjoyed the wet track first up and should be a big improver getting on top of the ground and stretching out in trip. His best can win this and Bowman should be able to give him a nice ride throughout.

Tip: (9) Exoboom - $2.10 with Bet365

Saver: (3) Blaze A Trail - $6.50 with Sportsbet

Thought (2) Juan Diva Could give this a shake after a very good first up run. Was blocked at a key stage and had to switch back to the inside where she let down nicely once in the clear. 2nd up record reads 2:1-1-0 and now gets back on top of the ground with both career victories coming on a good track. Gate 3 is perfect and looks a massive chance in an open race.

(5) I Say Hello is the early favourite after a solid win at Newcastle last start. She’s only very lightly raced and has plenty of upside. Just think the wide gate and the step up to this grade are queries.

(3) Miss Twilight was a big run fresh at Gosford and now steps to 1300m. She arguably should have won that race. She’s won twice over this trip but again, the wide gate will mean she needs a good ride from Rory Hutchings. With luck, she can win.

Tip: (2) Juan Diva - $4.20 at Ladbrokes

(6) Maui Girl is an interesting runner here as she resumes for her first start with Annabel Neasham. With the stable currently flying I am keen to see what this horse can do here today. She was last seen running a very good 4th in the Newcastle Newmarket behind Gem Song and crossing the line with recent Doncaster winner, Cascadian. Goes well fresh, enjoys this trip and I think she can be a big improver with a new change of scenery.

(9) Ruby Tuesday had to cover ground last start and made her run wide with Duaiss who came out and won the Adrian Knox on Saturday and now lines up in the Oaks this weekend. With more luck, this horse probably goes close to winning that race last start. Just not sure about to the slight drop back to 1500m.

(10) Mightybeel resumes after the ultimate gear change and had shown promise in his short career. His best form can give this a shake and gets in light.

Also Backing: (9) Ruby Tuesday - $5.50 at Bet365

Tough way to round out the day but going to side with (4) Shadow Bridge. Is well experienced at this level and his last couple of starts have been good. Gets back onto a dry track and should give them something to catch.

(1) Malahat showed he has come back in great order with a narrow 2nd to Invincible Kiss last start in a strong race at Muswellbrook. Usually performs best with a run under the belt and looks a good value chance.

(11) Pearl Roan was a dominant winner last start and deserves a crack at a race like this. Should get all the favours from gate 4 and she will be right in the finish.

Tip: (4) Shadow Bridge - $6.50 at Sportsbet

Billy has been an avid racing fan ever since he and a few mates started a punters club once they turned 18. Following the initial punters clubs, he was properly hooked after landing a nice collect on Admire Rakti in the 2014 Caulfield Cup and has had a soft spot for Japanese horses ever since. Is a massive fan of 'blinkers first time' and has been known to enjoy a 'Hail Mary' multi. Loves punting across metro Sydney and Melbourne every Saturday but isn't scared to venture West late in the day to find a Pikey special.
