Caulfield Tips

Caulfield is one of the major metropolitan race tracks in Melbourne and home of the Group 1 Caulfield Cup.

Located in the south-east suburbs of Melbourne, Caulfield held its first meeting in 1859 and is often referred to as “The Heath”, due to jockeys having to ride through bush, heath and sand hills in its early years. The track currently has a 367 meter home straight.

Caulfield holds up to 25 meetings per year and hosts 12 Group 1 races. These include the Memsie Stakes, Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes, Underwood Stakes, Caulfield Guineas, Caulfield Stakes, Thousand Guineas, Toorak Handicap, CF Orr Stakes, Blue Diamond Stakes, Futurity Stakes, Oakleigh Plate and the Caulfield Cup.
